UNIT  1 - ATMOSPHERE, WEATHER AND CLIMATE

 

• The atmosphere

 There are five layers in the atmosphere. We are going to study three of them (troposphere, stratosphere and ionosphere.

Hay cinco capas en la atmósfera. Vamos a estudiar tres de ellas.

1.We live in the troposphere which has the air we breathe. Air is made up of oxygen, nitrogen and small amounts of other gases, such as carbon dioxide.

2.The stratosphere is the next layer above the troposphere. It can reach to about 50 km above sea level. It’s where jet planes fly.

3.The next layer up is the ionosphere. It’s next to space and there are satellites here.
